The SB62 Project

 Let's introduce our SB62 project in a few sentences!

 As we know SB62 is the first sports car of completely Hungarian design and construction (except for the motor and the gearbox) whose prototypes will emerge with the brand name OWG in the next 2-3 years.

 This special vehicle will show several differences as compared to the street cars of our days. The main purpose of the designers is to make a car involving frequently missed - due to economical reasons - technologies as well as modern and innovative solutions of our days. It is well-known that today's car factories as well as the complete process of designing and manufacturing are mainly controlled by managers and marketing specialists. The key purpose of SB62 is to retain every right for decision in design process in the hands of the engineers. The investors have the idea of making a sports car to be manufactured in small series, that would possess surprisingly serious performance, safety and reliability as compared to its price.

 SB62 is a sports car built on a high-tensile special composite chassis whose aluminium bodywork frame will be covered with glass-fibre elements. Load distribution of the car will be ideal, that is 50% for each shaft. The key aspect of each point of the car is sporty, that is why the extremely rigid and oversized frame and bodywork will be accompanied with a similarly rigid, but light under-carriage and brake system Of course the complete under-carriage and the brake system will also be designed by the Hungarian engineers together with the complete passanger compartment and electronics and it will also be of domestic manufacture. The designers keep the details of the the transmission chain serving for moving the car in secret at the moment, but they guarantee by all means 200 HP (150 KW) This point of the car is not of Hungarian design and construction, it will arrive to the SB manufacturer from a well-known and reliable car manufacturer. The final result will be a vehicle that would have very good driving properties due to its fantastic LE/kg ratio, perfect weight distribution and many individually sportive parameters.

 SB62 has been under development since two years by a group of young Hungarian engineers (www.mernokcsoport.hu) and during 2007  some faculties of the Hungarian Technical University were also involved.

 The price of the car will be probably around 16.000.000. HUF (64.000.-Euros)

 Perhaps you want to know where is type mark 62 coming from. Of course it is not a secret:

 Should the project meet the expectations SB62 will be followed by other models. First SB93 and SB94. Construction of the prototype of SB62 will be started at the beginning of 2011 and probably it will race along the roads in the same year. As soon as it becomes true, construction of model SB103 will be immediately begun and perhaps models SB112 and SB113 -whose bases will be the new generation constructions of models 92 and 93 - will be put on the market in small numbers. Street version of SB94 with type marking SB124 may be put into manufacture in 2015 at the earliest. This car with its 400 HP (300 KW) performance may be the rival of several serious and today well-known street sports cars.
