About us

SB project was founded by Miklós Kovács and Gábor Fekete on 2nd June, 2006.

Both of us are the colleagues of Old World Garage technical and restoring private workshop and of the Oldtimer restoring workshop. At the first moment it sounds evidently contradictionary that persons restoring oldtimers wish to construct a completely new car. However our decision has just developed when we have already managed some Oldtimer restorations.  We think that we would be able to build a car completely of our design and based on our own ideas.

In our basic concept we have dreamed about a very small and mobile sports car (similar to Lotus Super Seven) and we gave the type SB62 for the model. Design works of SB62 have been going on for almost four years in Keglovits and Kovács engineering design office. Attila Keglovits dipl. mechanic engineer and Andor Kincses retired dipl. mechanic engineer are also participating in the project. In course of 2007 some Hungarian university faculties have been involved in the development activities. By now however the designs have come to the point that they are not really similar to the originally imagined vehicle of Lotus S7 type, but rather make a much sophisticated individual form of a sports car of our own development. We think that our car may either be the rival of several acknowledged street sports cars. In parallel with this development the costs of the construction of our prototype have importantly increased as compared to our original ideas. That is why the Hungarian group of engineers decided in December 2007 to establish a new project, to step back to the original ideas and first to construct a small, light and simple sports car type SB01. Construction of the prototype of model SB01 will be expectedly started in summer 2010 and as we hope the two-seater cabrio can race along the roads in spring 2011.

Construction of the model SB01 will precede and form the basis for the birth of the later SB62. The purpose of the group of engineers with the model SB01 is to gain experience on the one hand and to draw attention on the other.

Should you have any remark in respect of the above read, or you could give us some pieces of advice or ideas, or perhaps you would critisize it, please put your notice in our guest book or send it to our e-mail address info@sb62.eu
